EL Signs are relatively inexpensive and have an expected panel
life of between 6000 and 8000 hours at maximum brightness.
They are driven by inverter driver boxes which plug into a
standard powerpoint.
One of the big attractions of EL signs is their portability - they
are often printed on flexible material 0.6mm to 0.8mm thick, so
they can even be rolled up during transportation.
