Venenum bufonis is the dried white secretion of the auricular glands of Bufo bufo
gargarizans Cantor or Bufo melanotictus Bchneider, Bufonidae.
It is used to remove toxic substances and promote subsidence of swelling. It is also
used in the treatment of all kinds of carbuncle, cellulites and other skin and external
diseases, and furunculosis marked by hurting swellings, swelling and sore
throat, hurting tooth caries, etc.
It can alleviate pains and induce resuscitation.
It is effective for heat stroke, faint, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal colic, fullness
in the chest and abdomen, etc.
