Merrystone factory was founded in 1990, located in Hengtang Town, Xingzi County, JiangXi Provience of China.

Merrystone has own quarries two of which have exploiting history of over 3 hundred years. Blue-black slates were extracted from sedimentary rock from 300 to 400 million years old Silurian Slate Deposits. They are acknowledged as one of the finest quality slates in the world that conform to BS680(1971) and ASTM C406 S1 standards.
