polysulfone (PSU), polyethersulfone (PES) and polyphenylsulfone (PPSU)

耐熱性熱變型溫度在200～220℃，連續使用溫度為180～200℃，UL溫度指數為180℃。
耐水解性 可耐150～160℃熱水或蒸氣，在高溫下也不受酸、碱的侵蝕。
其模量在-100℃到200℃幾乎不變，特別在100℃以上比任何一種熱塑性樹脂都好。
抗蠕變性在180℃以下的溫度範圍內其抗蠕變性是熱塑性樹脂當中最優異的一種，特別是玻璃纖維增強PES樹脂比某些熱固性樹脂還好。
尺寸穩定性線膨脹係數小，而且其溫度信賴性也小是其特點。特點是30%玻璃纖維增強PES樹脂，其線膨脹係數只有2.3×10-5 /℃，並且直到200℃仍然可以保持與鋁相近似的值。
耐衝擊性具有與聚碳酸酯相同的耐衝擊性。不增強的樹脂可以鉚接，但對尖細的切口較敏感，因此設計上要注意。
無毒性在衛生標準方面，被美國FDA認可，也符合日本厚生省第434號和178號公告的要求。
難燃性具有自熄性，不添加任何阻燃劑即有優異的難燃性，可達UL94V-0級（0.46mm）
耐化學藥品性PES耐汽油、機油、潤滑油等油類和氟里昂等清洗劑，它的耐溶劑開裂性是非晶樹脂中最好的。
